ROD PETERSON
Rod Peterson is a Midwest blues vocalist, harmonicist and songwriter. He founded the Back Porch Blues Band in 2002 and was the driving force behind it for thirteen years. During that time, the band played in a number of festivals and clubs in the Midwest in front of thousands of fans. Rod also produced the band's award=winning album, "One More Before You Go," which was a finalist in the Best Self-Produced CD competition at the 2014 International Blues Challenge. He worked with the Nick Hern Band for a brief time in 2011 and contributed three songs to their "Just Feel" album. Currently, Rod is fronting Rod Peterson and The Assembly, a jazzy, jump swing band showcasing the Kansas City area's finest musicians.
BACK PORCH BLUES BAND
Like a Midwest summer storm blowing across the plains, the Back Porch Blues Band roared into town providing the best variety of original contemporary blues in the Heartland. The band's influences range from Chicago to Texas to Funk to West Coast Swing and everything in between. Four seasoned individual musicians came together to form a cohesive unit that was even greater than the sum of the parts.
Their 2014 album "One More Before You Go" was a finalist in the International Blues Challenge Best Self-Produced CD competition.
