ROD PETERSON
Rod Peterson is a Midwest blues vocalist, harmonicist and songwriter. He founded the Back Porch Blues Band in 2002 and was the driving force behind it for thirteen years. During that time, the band played in a number of festivals and clubs in the Midwest in front of thousands of fans. Rod also produced the band's award=winning album, "One More Before You Go," which was a finalist in the Best Self-Produced CD competition at the 2014 International Blues Challenge. He worked with the Nick Hern Band for a brief time in 2011 and contributed three songs to their "Just Feel" album. Currently, Rod is fronting Rod Peterson and The Assembly, a jazzy, jump swing band showcasing the Kansas City area's finest musicians.
NICK HERN BAND
The Nick Hern Band fills a room with house rocking blues full of raw energy. Rod contributed some fine harp work as well as lead and background vocals on some of the songs. He also claimed writing credits to three songs on the "Just Feel" album. The band competed in the 2012 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN.
